Enjoy Glendale, Arizona Like a Local: Cactus League Spring Training Stadium Guide

Headed to Camelback Ranch, spring training home to both the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Chicago White Sox?

Make the most of the sunny Arizona weather with some of the best nearby places Glendale has to offer:
Hiking Trail: Estrella Mountain Regional Park, south of I-10 in Goodyear, offers hiking, fishing, golf, and more.
City Park: Rio Vista Park, one freeway exit south of the stadium on Thunderbird Road, has so many amenities (including a skate park, fishing ponds, and playgrounds) that one reviewer writes, "This place is like Disneyland! It has everything!"
Dog Park: Avondale Friendship Park, on McDowell Road between Avondale Boulevard and Dysart Road, has a "nice big dog park."
Skate Park: Gateway Park in El Mirage has a skate park, dog park, shaded playground, and more.
Place to go Fishing: Staggs Park in the town of Litchfield Park (just southeast of the stadium on Indian School Road west of Dysart) offers fishing, bird-watching, duck-feeding, and a playground.
Place to learn about Native American culture: The Heard Museum, in central Phoenix, houses an "amazing collection of Native American artefacts and art."
Mexican Food: La Purisima, on 47th Avenue and Glendale, has authentic (and delicious) pastries (pan dulce, conchas, y mas), tamales, and more.
