Veteran's Memorial is a large park in south central Portage and is the home to the Columbia County Fair in July. The park has multiple baseball diamonds, several of which are completely fenced and lighted. There is a press box, covered dugouts, and a shelter with concessions near the two main fields. The park also has basketball courts and lots of open spaces.

Veterans Park has a stadium and several permanent buildings used for the fair and for other events throughout the year. There are indoor bathrooms. There is ample parking in a gravel lot or in the field.

A fenced off-leash dog park has been added behind the Agriculture building with 2 sections: one for smaller dogs and agility and one for larger dogs. Pick up bags and waste cans are provided. There's even a small basket with balls and other toys.
