The Best Places to Propose in Tulsa

We invited the award-winning photography team at Picturesque, Amanda and Heath, to share some of their local expertise by highlighting some of the best places to propose - and to shoot engagement photos - in Tulsa.

Amanda's Picks:
Woodward Park is hands-down the most popular park in the Tulsa area. Just stop by any Saturday evening and you’ll know what I mean. The 45-acre site in the heart of Tulsa has a wide variety of shooting locations including beautiful trees, rock gardens and paths, a wooden bridge, a stream, and arched walkways. It also includes a terraced rose garden (perfect for sunset shots) with fountains and an azalea garden that is simply beautiful in the spring. You do have to obtain a permit to photograph here professionally but it is well worth it as it allows you to photograph at all Tulsa parks.

One of my favorite sunset locations in Tulsa is the 29th Street Pedestrian Bridge. Once a railroad bridge to cross the Arkansas River, it has been converted to a pedestrian bridge that is a part of the Midland Valley Trail. There is also a dam at this location to form a lake. I love photographing on the bridge itself and also walking down the trail a bit to get the river in the background.

Chandler Park is a bit off the beaten path but well worth the drive. This 192-acre park has amazing rock cliffs, wooded areas, open fields, and trails. I especially love this location in the Fall with the multitude of colors from the Oak trees. It’s absolutely stunning.

About Picturesque:
Picturesque Photos by Amanda is a husband and wife wedding photography team based out of Tulsa, Oklahoma. I am a photojournalist turned wedding photographer and avid bookworm. I impart my own clean, crisp style, lighting and composition on every photo I take. Heath is an engineer by day and what I like to call a modern day renaissance man. He’s my personal assistant, on-site tech guru, partner and second shooter at a wedding. We capture a solid combination of details, candids and portraits to tell the story of every wedding we photograph. We focus on our couple, get to know them and tell their personal story through our art.
